Apsides

The points of greatest or least distance of the elliptical orbit of an astronomical object, from its center of attraction. In the case of the elliptical path of a planet around the Sun, these are the aphelion and the perihelion, and in the case of the Moon's orbit around the Earth, the apogee and the perigee.
