Even newcomers to the subject who attend a weekend course can call themselves astrologers. The number of individuals who have given themselves this title has grown greatly during the last few decades, a period in which there has been an increasing interest in spiritual and esoteric subjects in society. This can often lead to misunderstandings among the general public.
