Classical Planet

The planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn which have been known since at least - and probably before - ancient antiquity. The Sun and the Moon were added to these making a total of seven, a number which is considered to have special mystical significance (Mystical Numbers). These seven planets (the Greeks used the word planet - which literally means wanderer - to differentiate between the faster moving celestial bodies within our solar system and the so-called fixed stars. All of the seven classical planets are visible to the naked eye.
