Separating Aspect

An aspect which, although still in orb, has passed the point at which it was exact. An aspect is separating when the faster moving of the two planets has passed this point and is moving away. It is generally thought that the influence of the aspect rapidly decreases and for this reason a separating aspect is considered to be weaker than an applying aspect in which the faster moving planet is still approaching the point at which the aspect will become exact.
