A term used by the German astrologer Thomas Ring to describe a what is normally called a harmonious aspect or "good" in a neutral way. Ring considered the following major and minor aspects as synthetic: the Trine, Sextile, Quintile, Biquintile and Semi-Sextile. The opposite term is called an analytical aspect. Under this system, the Conjunction and Quincunx fall somewhere between the two categories.
